Now, AC/DC, linear and digital electronics courses
can be effectively taught with one economical trainer. With C.A.D.E.T,
cluttered lab benches and time-consuming rebuilding of repeatedly used
connections are eliminated. Students are able to concentrate their time and
effort on specific circuits being studied. The C.A.D.E.T. improves
efficiency and it costs far less than buying seperate trainers. It will
immediately fit into your current curriculum and permit you to make better
use of laboratory time.

&L LD-2 Pencilbox Logic Design Trainer
The
LD-2 PENCILBOX Logic Designer/ Trainer permits students to avoid the
repetitive building of frequently used circuits. All functions are
internally connected to three solderless interconnect sockets with two tie
points for each signal. The LD-2 comes complete with psu adaptor.

The
low cost LD-1 Pencilbox Logic Trainer permits students of digital
electronics to make efficient use of valuable laboratory time. Circuits such
as clocks, switches and lights are permanent parts of the LD-1 and need not
be repeatedly constructed. Students build only those circuits which directly
pertain to a particular experiment.
Everything required to design and experiment with logic circuitry is included
in the Pencilbox. Power is supplied by either foyr 1.5v batteries or an
optional AC adapter. The LD-1 is housed in a tough molded plastic carrying
case with an integral hinged cover which stacks conveniently for storage.

Information
Base Unit
The base unit consists of the PLC (32 digital I/O – 16 inputs and 16 relay
outputs), Aluminium case, PC to PLC programming cable, Windows Based PC
programming software (ladder and statement list). 10 inputs and 10 outputs
are brought to input switches and output LEDs on the trainer for simulation
programmes.
Applications Module: Analogue Unit
Contains 2 Analogue Inputs and 1 analogue output channel, voltmeter for
displaying analogue outputs, 2 potentiometers (0 – 10 volts) to simulate the
inputs. This module also allows the user to connect their own analogue
signals (2 in and 1 out). Note that a PLC Analogue unit is also part of this
add-on module.
Applications Module: Thumbwheel & Display Unit
Contains two digital thumbwheels and two 7-segment displays. This module
requires the use of 6 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs – these are the
unallocated I/O on the base unit.
Applications Module: Encoder Unit
This training package uses a real industrial rotary encoder for connecting
to any one of E&L’s PLC training units. Rotary encoders are widely used in
industry for positioning and counting applications. ‘Incremental’ versions
are ideal for rotational counting and speed control, whilst ‘Absolute’
versions can be used in conjunction with, say, rotary cam positioners for
positioning applications. This training package uses the incremental type of
rotary encoder.
HMI Display Panel
HMI: Human Machine Interfaces, or also referred to as Operator Panels, are
increasingly used in industry. Connects directly to the PLC programming port
PLC / PLC Communications Module
This allows for one PLC to communicate with another in peer-to-peer mode. Fits
directly to the PLC.
PLC Master / Slave Communications Module
A low cost way to start making your PLC communicate with another PLC for
Master / Slave mode. Fits directly to the PLC.
