The handheld was designed for the use in dermatology. The result was a probe that can also be used for many other applications in medicine and industry. It is small, handy and easy to use
abs offers a set of different tips for the probe to make it useable for different applications. The slit tip is the preferred tip for dermatology. It allows investigations of virtually all parts of the human skin. The open tip is usually used when a certain area of the sample shouldn't be touched by the probe.
The handheld is equipped with a ring light. A CCD camera integrated into the device allows the parallel visual inspection of the sample.
Spectral Radar OCT Imaging System - Callisto Series
The Callisto is a Fourier domain OCT system enabling measurements with espacially high sensitivity and excellent signal to noise ratio. An image sensor is used for this with an extremely high fully well capacitity of 8 million electrons. To fully utilise the potential of the image sensor the scan rate has been reduced to 1400 A-Scans per second. The measuring system can easily connected to any computer by USB 2.0 interface. With a small footprint and an attractive price this system is particularly suited for research and development where high sensitivity has been given priority over high speed imaging.
High sensitivity of 115dB
Signal to noise ratio 75dB
512 measure points per A-Scan
Measuring speed 1400 A-Scans per second (2.5 fps @ 500 Scans per B-Scan)
840nm medium wave length, 1.5mW power
3.6um axial resolution
3.4mm measurement range
USB 2.0 interface

SpectroSens components
SpectroSens detection systems comprise the microchips and readout units. There are a number of choices to suit biological detection or process refractive index measurement, either on-line or off-line.
For biological detection, the microchip is housed in a disposable plastic package that simply plugs directly into the readout unit. To enable these chips to detect biological particles, antibodies are attached to the surface of the detector chip. When viruses, bacteria or proteins binds to the antibodies, the refractive index changes and their presence is accurately measured and identified.
Disposable biological detection chip package For refractive index measurement in a process line, the microchip is packaged in a standard pipe fitting. Multiple detector heads can be connected via optical fibre to a single remote readout unit. As the microchips and cables are purely optical, this makes them ideal for use in flammable environments or where there is electromagnetic interference.

The readout unit comprises all the electronics necessary in a standard rack mount or bench-top case. Hand-held units will be available shortly.
